Wire AND Go4!! those 2 bands on their own are worth the (probably exhorbitant) ticket price, but i just don't do those kinda 'festivals'! I'll concentrate on talking my mates into going to Dublin!!!
  3.
to be honest; it's not like most kind of festivals. indoors; so great sound, no camping, small audiences, friendly atmosphere. price is £150/£160 for the weekend including 3 nights accommodation in chalets on site.
  4.
"chalets on site" - that's the clincher really!! i'd rather go to a 'proper' gig & get a decent hotel!
  5.
they're actually pretty nice actually; comparable to a basic hotel setup. that particular butlins site
has had a lot of refurbishment done to it in the last 5 years or so.

we've also confirmed The Frogs; first ever UK show and also a UK exclusive
  6.
you cannae sell chalets that are comparable to a 'basic' hotel to me. it's 4 *'s or more for me!!!!

I went to the first couple of ATP events and they were pretty f**king amazing.

They are tiny as festivals go so the bands tend to mingle which is nice. At the first one I got to hang out with Debbie Goodge from My Bloody Valentine and had a very bizarre conversation with Mercury Rev in the toilets and saw one of the first Flaming Lips performances of 'Soft Bulletin'. At the second one (curated by Mogwai) I got to see the infamous Sonic Youth Jazz Odyssey gig, had a really nice chat with Colin Newman and saw one of the best Wire sets ever including a "Drill" which pretty much wiped the floor with everything else on the bill.

If you've not done an ATP before get of yer arse and go to one...they really are special. You've not lived until you've seen Wire play at a Pontins holiday camp!

I watched The Fall with Graham Lewis at the Shellac curated ATP and then we drank all night until they chucked us out of the pub at 5am. The hangover the next day was phenomenal...

ATP is always good, the only big problem I find is that two bands I want to see might be on at the same time. If Melt Banana and Wire were to Clash that would be annoying. Or either of them with GO4, Shellac, Giant Sand or Throwing Muses. Then there are the times when too many people want to see one band, but that doesn't happen that often.
The other event also looks good with The Jesus Lizard and Killing Joke.

You don't have to stay in a chalet. You can always get a hotel in Minehead.

Have Th'Faith Healers refomed especially for this?
  9.
gotta say the line-up is becoming more attractive all the time - Killing Joke have added!!!!

for L150, does one get to drop a TV out the window of one's chalet, in the spirit of rock and roll?
  10.
I heard the Breeders set fire to their chalet at the Shellac ATP, so no need to stay glued to your TV set!

Killing Joke play the other weekend that Wire aren't playing (there are two events).

    Anyone going?

I understand Melt Banana are playing Manchester on the 13th just before they do the Breeders ATP, but there is nothing on their website about this as yet.
