Best 12XU cover EVER: Serious Drinking- "Saw you down in Surrey, opening a fete!"
I think this is excellent..."Outdoor miner" performed on the ukulele!!
Their covers of Are Friends Electric are stunning!
in this case i think it's the song, BUT you should check out The Ukele Orchestra of Great Britain - HUGELY entertaining!
That Serious Drinking '12xu' is fantastic!
The first WIRE cover I heard is still my favourite I think, Heartbeat by Big Black.
my band is thinking of covering The 15th, and we had a little jam on Mr Marx's Table last night too,

the MBV cover if map ref si one of my favorite songs
my band covered our swimmer in several live concerts something like 27 or 28 years ago. and one of the tunes from the singing fish. and 1-2-3 beep beep translated into italian.
Not a fan myself, but Evan Dando/The Lemonheads are releasing a covers album called Varshons.

"Wire's "Fragile" shapes up startlingly beautifully as a typical Dando acoustic country-pop trundle".

Edit: John Perry plays guitar on the LP.

John Perry of the Only Ones? if so, interesting...
Really like the Lemonheads cover of "Mrs. Robinson" but not so wild about Mr Dando's take on "Fragile"...
I think Lee Ranaldo's "Fragile" wins that race as far as I'm concerned.
I decided to be Wire for Halloween so I'm tracking a bunch of their songs myself. Just finished 3 this weekend and going to take a break for a while, but by all means have a listen to them and the other songs:
(btw outdoor miner on the uke was awesome)
I Am The Fly, and other insect related songs will be performed by Robyn Hitchcock and his friends at The South Bank Centre on the 4th of September, as part of the Pestival series of events celebrating insects in art.
You'd be surprised you could even remember Fragile if you were Paul Lester!
Been looking for the right place to post this...

My cover of "Kidney Bingos", with kazoos:

The last post here was 2.5 years ago so I guess this hall is abandoned. Regardless, if anyone is listening - enjoy.
    Just another 12xU-cover, enjoy:
Moose covered kidney bimgos several years back, only available on 12 in
