I was passed a link through facebook and was somewhat surprised to see it's from the Bush Hall not a back room of a pub. Someone has evidently put some time & effort into this.

    the outdoor miners - Lowdown
Don't know but the name of the uploader of the rehearsal clip (chunkmonkey123) sounds familiar; possibly from this forum or the IC list?
That's fellow ICer Norm Fasey on vocals.
They even do stuff off the new LP too. Impressive! Our invites must have been lost in the post. :(
I got the full explanation from Norm himself. That's a very particular way to pass a birthday! Well good luck to them.. I felt a bit weird for a moment as i was wondering how a band doing Wire covers gets to play the Bush Hall which is a pretty decent venue..
So here's the lowdown. We hired Bush Hall for my 50th last month. I have always wanted to do an 'Ex Lion Tamers' and get together a Wire tribute act. So this seemed a good reason to do it. I am not sure how to take it when you say 'How come they are playing Bush Hall'. :-). I thought we did a good job of it considering we only had two full rehearsals before the gig. We have been working hard on perfecting our craft. I mean, even the real band had to start somewhere.

Anyway, you are all cordially invited to THE CASTLE 452 FINCHLEY ROAD NW11 8DG on the 19th June 2011 where the outdoor miners are headlining with The Defamers and Model Citizens + International DJ Spizz Energi (He of 6000 Crazy, Where's Captain Kirk fame). Doors open at 7pm.

We are also working on some previously unreleased/early stuff including 'Culture Vultures' and 'Mary is a Dyke'.

    Norm Fasey - Vocals/Guitar
    Jim McGeoghan - Guitar/Vocals
    Stevie Newton - Bass
    Sacha Boyd - Drums

BTW! We are looking for a new drummer as our current one only wanted to play the one gig. Now the band has started gigging regularly, he wants to concentrate on his career in broadcasting.
    nice one Norm.....
