Playing Aladdin Sane as my mini tribute and looking forward to "Five Years" documentary on Beeb 2 on Saturday.

I did think, sigh...another Bowie doc, but as I'm laid up with the flu I watched it and actually it was rather good...some great footage in there and Carlos Alomar was a hoot...especially his take on dealing with Eno's writing process. The late Bolder appeared, albeit briefly (the doc mostly focused on the post Ziggy era)

Really enjoyed the documentary. They unearthed some great live, rehearsal & other footage, rather than the usual tired old clips, like OGWT - even though one OGWT clip did come up, but it was a fluffed take.. The musicians interviews on the process behind the songs was highly entertaining. Fripp was a hoot - "'We are the goon squad and we're coming to town. Beep Beep' - now ain't that a line that sticks in the mind."

Little Wire link, what with Page Hamilton bringing Bowie along to see the lads in NY in 2000. "He seemed like a decent bloke. He was very pleasant" according to Bruce, when Bowie made a "brief visitation" backstage, even though he wanted them to play more from Chairs Missing..
