Great show last night for the boys. Like many others remarked about earlier shows: it gets off to a bit of a slow start and doesn't start hitting it's stride until 4-5 songs in. I think the pacing of the early song selection is a bit too varied to build early momentum but that's a minor complaint.

"Marooned" sounds a lot different now. Same tempo as before but it sounds like they may have changed the key of the song. Graham also altered his bassline to remove some of the notes. It's quite a bit darker than the original and I really liked it.

"Blogging For Jesus" (which I think is actually titled "Blogging LIKE Jesus") was phenomenal. It's built around a very hypnotic heavy riff that sounds like something Bruce Gilbert would've written. It's closer in sound to something from Send but not quite as minimalist. Very topical lyrics (I caught Ebay and You Tube references in the words). "Flying Dutchman" was cool also but it didn't leave as strong of an impression with me. The live mix was a bit muddy during that tune so it was hard to really discern the guitar parts. It was poppy and wouldn't have sounded out of place on RBT.

The highlight for me (and always a highlight when it's in the set) was "Spent". This song is a true Wire classic, when the tension finally releases into the initial full band rocking out section I am convinced there is nothing that sounds heavier. That song gives me goosebumps every time.

On a side note it's really a joy watching Matt play. He's up there the whole time just grinning from ear to ear and I love what he brings to the songs. Very tight and professional but not afraid to get loose when the moment calls for it.

Can't wait to see them again!
If you can enjoy yourself in Philly, you're a superhero with mind-boggling powers. The fate of Pennsylvania is in the hands of politicians from Philly, which means we'll suffer the same fate as Detroit. As Philly implodes, so does all of Yankdom. Wishing you a better future in the U.K..
