I sure hope I can make it to the D.C. show...
  2.
AnothertheKeith: this East Anglian's going to the Scala gig. Five minutes' walk from Kings Cross, what more can you ask for?

(Last time I was there was for a Shellac gig, which was pretty epic.)

I just grabbed a ticket for the Atlanta show at Variety Playhouse on October 12.

I'm looking forward to meeting up with anyone else here who attends. Some friends and I are tenatively planning to hike the Georgia section of the Appalachian Trail that week, but I'll definitely be back in time for Wire. This will be my second time seeing Wire here in Atlanta and I'm particularly pleased at the venue choice. Variety Playhouse should be a perfect spot to see this band.

I'm personally ambivalent about what Wire chooses for the setlist. As I told friends who skipped out on the 2002 Echo Lounge show because of the band's emphasis on new tracks, I just want to see Wire in person and I don't care what they play as long as I see them. Object 47 is ace, so this will be a fun show just on the strength of those tracks.

I just purchased 4 tix for the Atlanta show...Im taking a fellow Wire fan and a couple of young 20 somethings that were amazed at the freshness of O47. I had to give them a history lesson ; ) Inspectorjason...I'll touch base with you before the show.

I was very pleased to see the announcement that Wire will grace First Avenue in Minneapolis again! Thank you Thank You Thank you! It will be such a treat to see you again! I'm down for 6 tickets already and it will probably be more. I've been a Wire evangelist for a long time and I do my job well. But then it's not all that hard. one listen usually seals the deal.

But thanks so much for coming back to Minneapolis. I'll probably follow you down to Chicago if possible.

Just got tickets for Wire's gig at the Arches in Glasgow. It's a 500 capacity but I'm fearful that the sound quality won't be the best. The venue's situated underneath Glasgow Central train station and of the gigs I've been to in the past (like Half Man Half Biscuit) the acoustics in the room weren't ideal - with a muddy sound hitting the eardrums. Hopefully Wire can overcome that and prove me wrong. In any case, it'll just be great to see them again after Four Long Years (see what I did there?!).

THIS IS GIG IS NOT ANNOUNCED BY US BECAUSE WE HAVE NOT AGREED TO DO IT! AS FAR AS I KNOW THEY DIDN'T EVEN MAKE AN OFFER YET...
  10.
somewone somewhere better have a word with ENTS24/Ticketmaster, then!?!??!?!?!
  11.
knuckles have been rapped! To be honest we are not sure if we are going to do this or not. If it's in the 93 ft East I know it's awfully small for a festival...
  12.
& they've taken notice of you & removed Wire from the list of bands!
  13.
It must have been the HULK SMASH nature of all those capital letters! And, yeah, that venue is somewhat wee for a festival.
  14.
You should play this gig Colin. I know you love DJ Scotch Egg ;)

a.P.A.t.T. are a recommended band for anyone interested. We used to stock them on PE, but funnily enough no one bought it.
  15.
They have announced an October 14th gig in Los Angeles at Echoplex.
  16.
Back to Craig's opening question, I'm getting my wish in terms of 'where' (Leeds - though I've seen no promo around the city centre!); as to what, as long as they vary the set from Manchester in May and maybe throw in some wild cards. I was thinking I'd like to see a reworked 'Alone'; alright, it was on A-Z rather than a Wire release, but it's Lewis/Newman, and it has some public pedigree what with The Silence Of The Lambs. And while I'm on, why not open or close with Up To The Sun as in encores from days of old.
  17.
Yeah . Up To The Sun was a great live song.

    Hi all--

I'm new to the board, so I'm probably weighing in too late as the dates seem to be pretty well set, but I'm disappointed that Detroit is not on the list.

What are the chances of fitting in that date sirs? What about tacking on one more date at the end for faithful Detroit Wire followers - we're still major market aren't we? Hell, our mayor's getting international press...Rock on Kwame!
  19.
That's right, the Mayor Of Detroit is all over the news channels, Fox, CNN, even Sky in the UK are getting stuck in.

It's only a hunch but it's my guess that it's because of the mayor that they've decided to avoid Detroit.

I thought all you guys in Detroit were Kiss & Ted Nugent fans...

With Wire, the band usually goes where it's invited. I know the band's generally of the opinion that it won't compromise a tour from the fan's point of view due to any politics going on. (In other words, if a politician is being a prat, Wire won't go "Oh, well we won't turn up, then."
