    Happy Birthday Bruce - 70 today.

    Click here to hear a piece I made to honour the occasion.
    Highly unlikely Bruce will read this here but happy birthday. Where have the last 20 years gone!!
    Indeed it is entirely unlikely he will read this here, certainly not now, 9pm Weds evening, with the Beekeeper birthday bash in full flow somewhere in London. But let us, this motley crew of far-flung hard core fans, committed to the long haul, wish this maverick contrarian septuagenarian well nonetheless. It is a day - would you Adam & Eve it - which seems to have crept up fierce quick all the same.
    HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)::):):):):):):):):):):):)::):):):):):):):):):):)
    Excellent piece Fergus. Great title too.
    Cheers Ian !

    Bruce enjoyed it and found it 'very evocative'.

    Here's what the object looked like:

    By way of coincidence, the recent death of Choppers, the last surviving PG Tips chimp, had forced the 'you hum it' exchange into conversation with mates the other week. Unlikely synchronicity when the starting point is Bruce Gilbert's 70th birthday.
    That's gas - I didn't know chimps could live that long. Just looked it up, and whilst the Bonobo can live up to 40, the common chimp can live up to 50. I oughta do a wee requiem for 'im !

    Trying to shoehorn a reference to 'a monkey caught stealing'...

    but that's a monkey, not a chimp. Ha !
    Ape man - keep your hair on!

    Thanks !

    A nice pic of the birthday boy with fellow noisenik Russell Haswell.
